Orwell Housing Association operates a combination of main contractors, specialist contractors, and in house repairs operatives.

The main contracts which include Building Works, electrical, Plumbing, Gas Servicing, Fire Alarm and Warden Call were tendered in 2008 and it is our intention to continue the contracts for a three year period terminating in 2011.

Contracts will be re-tendered during 2011 unless partnering demonstrates Value For Money, High Customer Care and the delivery of Key Performance Indicators, in which case the association can choose to roll the contract on for a further three year period. 

Our current main contractors are detailed below

• Needham Electrical Ltd – All electrical work and associated certification for properties within South Suffolk and Essex
   
• Willert Electrical Ltd - All electrical work and associated certification for properties within North Suffolk and Norfolk
   
• Needhams Building Contractors – All building work including carpentry and joinery, masonry, plumbing, roofing, electrical, painting decorating & flooring for all properties
   
• Aaron Services Ltd – Gas servicing cylinder and boiler installation for properties within South Suffolk and Essex
   
• Great Yarmouth Heating - Gas servicing cylinder and boiler installation for properties within North Suffolk and Norfolk
   
• English Security – All fire Alarms, Fire Extinguishers and Alarm call systems for all properties with these services.
