Development at Orwell

Orwell Housing Association develops approximately 100 new properties a year from its Development team based at our head office in Ipswich. The team works on the day-to-day delivery of each housing scheme with Orwell acting as the client employing a range of partners to help develop new homes for both rent and sale. The main functions of the team are to project manage the delivery of each development from purchasing the land or building through to completion of the new homes.

Each project has a design team which normally consists of contractor, architect, engineers, employer’s agent and other consultants who all work together to deliver the scheme to Orwell’s high design specification.

Where possible properties are allocated approximately three months prior to completion, this enables Orwell to give the incoming residents choice over certain elements of the new homes, for example choice of kitchen and bathroom finishes.
