Decent Homes
The Decent Homes standard was established in July 2000 in order to ensure that all social housing meets a standard of decency by 2010. A Decent Home is one which is wind- and weather-tight, warm and has modern facilities. In this context it should:
- be fit under the new Housing, Health and Safety rating system (HHSR)
- be in a reasonable state of repair
- have reasonably modern facilities and services
- provide a reasonable degree of thermal comfort, including insulation and heating.
