In your home, especially if it is less than 5 years old, some or all of your light fittings may only be able to take an energy saving '3 pin' bulb.

These have been installed by the Association in order to comply with Building Regulations and also the Environmental Standard that all our new properties are required to achieve. These regulations require for some or all of the light fittings in your home to be a dedicated energy efficient fitting.

These fittings and bulbs benefit you in a number of ways: by saving you money in the long term and by being kinder to the environment. They can use up to 80% less electricity than a traditional bulb and last up to 15 times longer.

The Association is aware that the '3 pin' bulbs are not readily available in supermarkets or other shops and can vary in price.

To help our tenants with this issue, the Association offers that should you have a bulb that stops working within your first 6 months of moving into a brand new property we will be happy to provide a replacement for you free of charge. Email qwc@orwell-housing.co.uk to request a replacement bulb.
