Orwell Announces New Chair

Orwell is pleased to announce the appointment of Kim Newman as their new Chair. Kim succeeds Ian Beaumont who was Chair for 3 years. Kim joined the Board of Orwell in March 2015 and having been Vice-chair, is now very proud to be taking over as Chair of Orwell Housing Association.  

With a background in commercial management, business strategy and collaboration/partnership working; Kim is the founder and Managing Director of PML, a specialist Performance Improvement Consultancy within the housing and property sectors. Kim started her career as a Surveyor and prior to setting up PML in 1995, Kim spent a number of years at large professional services practices including Capita and Turner and Townsend in various leadership roles. 

Kim has accumulated over 25 years’ experience of working at board/senior, strategic, tactical and operational levels and she has developed and implemented strategies for a range of housing, public and private sector clients. Kim is also a best-selling co-author of Fit for Purpose Leadership 2.

Kim commented: “It is a very exciting time in the growth and development of the organisation and I am looking forward to continuing the great work that has been started by the outgoing Chair, Ian Beaumont. His advice and support has been invaluable, and I would like to give Ian my sincere thanks and wish him well for the future.”
