We’re committed to the Age-friendly Employer Pledge.
This Age Without Limits Day, we are delighted to announce that we have signed the Age-friendly Employer Pledge, a nationwide programme run by the Centre for Ageing Better to make workplaces age friendly.
This means we’re taking action to improve our recruitment, retention and development of workers aged 50 and over.
Being a part of the pledge means we draw on a wider pool of applicants for each job. It means older workers can continue to thrive and contribute to our organisation. And it means we can benefit from the innovation and productivity boost that multigenerational workforces bring.
Orwell strives to be a multigenerational and age-inclusive employer, welcoming applicants of all ages. This pledge demonstrates our commitment to having:
- An age friendly culture
- Age-inclusive recruitment practices
- Support for colleague health and wellbeing
- Unbiased flexible working policies
- A commitment to training and career development at all career stages
- Recognising the value all colleagues bring, regardless of age
The Age-friendly Employer Pledge is a nationwide programme for employers who are committed to improving work for people in their 50s and 60s.
More people are working later in life, but older workers often face prejudice and are overlooked. Employment rates drop after the age of 55, and over half of people have stopped working before state pension age. Yet we know multigenerational workforces drive productivity and innovation.
We’re signing up to the Age-friendly Employer Pledge to show our commitment to older workers.
