Hi there and welcome to This Week at Orwell. This is your video newsletter sharing stories from around the Orwell community this last week.
We wanted to share a really great online list of 36 places where children can either eat for free or for just £1. The list includes such places as Sainsbury’s, Morrison’s, and Hungry Horse to name a few.
This summer, between Monday 22 July and Friday 30 August, Under 17-year-olds will get access to Ipswich Borough Council’s complete summer holiday activity programme for just £6.00 for 6 weeks – that’s £1.00 per week! There are over 500 activities taking place across their facilities, parks and other venues from BMX bikes, Junior Kayaks, Rollerskating and much more.
The ‘Wild Walls project’ will see Art Eat and The Subversiv Collective engage with the 14–30 age range, who will work with established artists to produce new murals and public art interventions around the Ipswich. There will also be Virtual Reality (VR) workshops and a VR exhibition for visitors to experience at the University of Suffolk, print fair, cinema screenings, live art workshops and music events as part of the programme.
We were pleased to receive a lovely email this week from Val, one of our customers which read:
“Absolutely love these little broadcasts. I am never likely to leave Orwell accommodation because I think you are excellent and caring landlords, but if I do I would still listen to these…they make me smile! Kindest regards, Val”
