We proudly celebrated more than 70 Orwell colleagues for their long service and dedication

People from across the organisation came together to celebrate outstanding service and dedication, with more than 30 colleagues enjoying an afternoon of Nozeco, recognition, and celebration.

Honouring milestones ranging from five years’ service to an incredible 40 years, the annual event, held around Orwell’s anniversary, shines a spotlight on the commitment, passion, and lasting impact our colleagues make across the organisation and the wider sector.

As part of the celebrations, our CEO, Wendy Evans-Hendrick, was delighted to present the awards and personally thank colleagues for their years of service. She said:

“It’s just really lovely to be able to recognise colleagues who have been dedicated to Orwell, our customers and colleagues for such a long period of time.

“It is a really lovely place to work, and I think you could see that today. You could see the energy and feel the energy in the room, that people just enjoy being together and recognising the amazing work all our colleagues do.”

Here are just some of the heartfelt comments shared by colleagues, reflecting the impact and appreciation these long-serving team members have earned over the years.

“I would describe Karen as the ‘beating heart’ of the team; Karen regularly takes time to show concern for everyone’s well-being as well as having a great sense of humour.”

“She goes above and beyond, always putting others before herself and ensuring that tenants, relatives, and colleagues feel valued, supported, and cared for.”

“Tina has always been dedicated to not only her role but most importantly to the tenants. She is a kind and thoughtful lady who we are lucky to have working with us.”

“Jaz is a strong leader who always makes the welfare of other colleagues a priority, Jas has an abundance of knowledge and experience, making her an asset to the people team.”

“He cares so much for the Estate Services team and just such a genuine, nice guy.  Whenever I see Kevin or go over to visit his sites, all his tenants love him and it’s like he is part of the community and always has a pocket full of dog treats at the ready.”

We would like to extend our congratulations to all the colleagues celebrating these remarkable service milestones. We are proud to recognise their dedication to Orwell, including those who were unable to join us at the event.
