Orwell progresses to Silver Level of Suffolk Carbon Charter
Orwell’s commitment to reach net zero continues as we achieve the Silver Level of the Suffolk Carbon Charter.
We were presented with the certificate in July 2026 following an audit in late 2025, highlighting our progression from the Bronze Level.
It recognises we have in place all the Bronze Level requirements and are showing measurable progress in implementing the action plan.
As part of our commitment, we are working toward two targets:
- to achieve EPC Band C in all homes by the year 2030
- to be a net zero carbon organisation by the year 2050
Steve Crissall, Assistant Director of Property Services at Orwell Housing Association, said:
“We are delighted to have progressed from Bronze to Silver in the Suffolk Carbon Charter.
“This recognition shows we are continuing on the right track to become a net zero organisation and supporting wider efforts to cut carbon emissions in our area.
“As our ethos states: ‘Together we make a difference’, and it’s through working together we will continue to become a greener organisation for our customers and the wider communities.”
