Orwell are delighted to be celebrating the renewal of achieving the Housing Diversity Network (HDN) Accreditation for equality, diversity, and inclusion (ED&I).
The accreditation recognises the strength of our leadership, processes and engagement with both customers and colleagues, all of which contribute to positive outcomes and place ED&I firmly at the heart of everything we do.
HDN is a social enterprise and membership organisation that supports housing sector organisations in tackling inequality, unlocking the full potential of their workforce and meeting the diverse needs of the communities they serve. Their Diversity Network Assessment (DNA) framework focuses on four key areas to drive meaningful change: Leadership & Strategy, Workforce, Customer Impact and Community Impact.

Michelle Harrison, Director of People and Culture at Orwell said: “We are incredibly proud to have renewed our EDI accreditation, first achieved in 2022. This achievement reaffirms our commitment to a workplace where everyone feels free to be themselves. Equality, diversity and inclusion are not just policies they are lived values, reflected in our actions, commitments and culture.
At Orwell, we believe that when people feel safe to be their true selves at work, they bring fresh ideas, perform at their best and deliver exceptional service to our customers. Thank you to everyone who helped us reach this milestone in our ongoing journey.”
Mushtaq Khan, Chief Executive Officer at HDN added: "Orwell have shown a strong and ongoing commitment to not just maintaining their approach to EDI, but to continuously improving - something clearly reflected by their sustained efforts since the initial accreditation.
The materials submitted for this assessment, along with the genuine positivity and enthusiasm expressed by both staff and engaged customers, highlight Orwell as an organisation deeply dedicated to fostering equality and inclusion.”
