Today is world environment day. Led by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and held annually on 5 June since 1973, World Environment Day is the largest global platform for environmental public outreach and is celebrated by millions of people across the world. In 2024, it is hosted by Saudi Arabia.
So today we’re thinking about all the ways in which we try our best here at Orwell to help the environment and with the weather being brighter today, it got us thinking about getting outside more and where we may have space at home, be it a garden or communal space, how can we make those areas as pleasant as they can be. Some things to think about are:
Following our recent charity cycle ride, our Chair of the Board, Helen Driver, was a guest on Suffolk Sound Radio earlier today to talk to Rob Dunger about the event and importantly the issues surrounding funding for temporary supported housing across the region.
