Hi there and welcome to This Week at Orwell. Here is a recap of news stories around the Orwell community this last week.
Collection of temporary heaters
During the winter we were able to provide our customers with temporary heaters for homes when repairs to heating systems were required. As the warmer weather is now with us, we would like to arrange collection of those heaters, at a convenient time, where the repair work has now been completed. Please can Orwell customers either contact customers services or email the team directly at repairs@orwell-housing.co.uk to arrange a conveneient pick up time.
Orwell Gardening Competition 2023
We are excited to announce that our Gardening competition is back for 2023! The competition will begin at the start of July and finish at the end of August and we look forward to receiving all of your entries this year! If you are proud of your patch or just love gardening, we welcome all to take part, please spread the word to your Orwell neighbours! We have different categories, so whether your garden is a balcony with a few plants and foliage or a small or large garden, it’s perfect for anyone to enter. This year's categories are:
Use of small spaces/Indoor garden (Plant pots / Indoor Outdoor / Patio areas
Sustainable garden (Veg, fruit, water butt, wildlife friendly)
Community garden (Any shared spaces)
Your happy space (A space within your garden or communal area that brings you joy)
All-round garden (Any other garden type not listed)

High Road Music Festival | 14th & 15th July 2023
A Country & Americana music festival with a sprinkling of Folk and Blues. High Road Festival is a new music festival coming to the picturesque village of Great Finborough in support of the Mid Suffolk Voluntary Organisation Forum for Dementia. The event is taking place over two days; Friday 14th July 2023 (6pm to 10:30pm) and Saturday 15th July 2023 (2pm to 10:30pm).
